Girls' track team

The GLMS girls' track team won the 2008 North Georgia Athletic Conference Championships held May 1-2 at Gordon Lee. The Lady Trojans took the lead after the first event and never trailed, clinching the championship with two events still to go.

It was the third league crown for Gordon Lee, who previously won in 1991 and 2006.

May 2 Gordon Lee's girls amassed an NGAC Championships record 158 points to capture their second league title in three years. The Lady Trojans took first or second in 11 of the 13 events and won by 39 points over second-place Heritage. Scoring for GLMS were:

Apr 25 The Lady Trojans won a five-team meet, out-pointing Chattanooga Valley, Heritage, LaFayette, and Lakeview. Kelsie Bickett won the shot put and long jump, Katelyn Lee captured the discus, Sam Taylor was first in the 1600m, and Courtney Towns took the 800m. Gordon Lee also won both relay events. The Trojans finished third in the meet. Brandon Carr won the 100m hurdles for GLMS.

Apr 22 Both teams defeated LaFayette and Rossville in a tri-meet at LaFayette. Kelsie Bickett set a new GLMS record in the shot put with a throw of 31-8, and Sam Taylor lowered her record in the 1600m with a time of 5:57.

Apr 18 The Lady Trojans won the GLMS Invitational by 40 points over second-place Heritage. Gordon Lee got first-place points from Kelsie Bickett in the shot put and long jump, Katelyn Lee in the discus, and Sam Taylor in the 1600m. Finishing second were Bickett (pole vault), Kendall Johnson (long jump, 100m hurdles – new GLMS record 16.97), Courtney Towns (discus, 800m – new GLMS record 2:48.0), the 4x100m relay team (Brenna Nation, Johnson, Bickett, Taylor – new GLMS record 54.54), and the 4x400m relay team (Bickett, Jessica Mummert, Johnson, Taylor – new GLMS record 4:36.49). The Trojans finished fifth in the eight-team field. Logan Hise was the only event winner for Gordon Lee, capturing the pole vault. Brandon Ngeth tied the school record in the high jump with a leap of 5-6.

Apr 15 The girls' team defeated Ringgold, Chattanooga Valley, and Rossville in a quad meet. Kelsie Bickett won the pole vault, long jump, and shot put, Katelyn Lee won the discus, and Brenna Nation was first in the 200m. Both relay teams also won their events. Kendall Johnson won the 100m hurdles with a new school-record time of 17.71. Courtney Towns won the 800m while Sam Taylor won the 1600m, each lowering her own school record with times of 2:49.0 and 6:03, respectively. The boys' team beat Chattanooga Valley and Rossville. Logan Hise was tops in the pole vault for the Trojans' only win.

Apr 7 The Lady Trojans won seven events in a season-opening four-way meet. Kelsie Bickett captured the shot put, pole vault, and long jump, Katelyn Lee won the discus, Brenna Nation was first in the 100m, and Sam Taylor was tops in the 1600m. The 4x400m relay team of Bickett, Jessica Mummert, Kendall Johnson, and Taylor also won. The Trojans had two winners as Brandon Ngeth took the high jump and Brandon Carr won the 100m hurdles.
