Lady Trojans finish second in NGAC tournament
The GLMS Lady Trojan basketball team capped an excellent season by finishing second in the North Georgia Athletic Conference tournament. The Lady Trojans were seeded third entering the tournament, based on an 11-3 record in regular-season league games. Gordon Lee knocked off sixth-seeded Heritage, 38-31, in the tournament's first round, then blasted number-two seed Dade County 37-18 to reach the championship game for the third time in four years.
In the finals, the Lady Trojans fell to top-seeded Ringgold 32-16. Gordon Lee finished the season with an overall record of 13-5.
Five Lady Trojans honored by NGAC
Five members of the Lady Trojan basketball team received honors from the North Georgia Athletic Conference at the end-of-season awards ceremony. Jillian Johnson and Alli O'Neal were named to the All-League team, while Holli Brooks, Kaita McGregor, and Jensen O'Neal were selected to the All-Tournament team.
2005-2006 season updates
February 4 — The Lady Trojans lost to Ringgold in the finals of the NGAC tournament by a score of 32-16. Gordon Lee completed the season with a record of 13-5.
February 3 — Gordon Lee outscored Dade County 15-2 in the first quarter and went on to defeat the Lady Wolverines 37-18 in the semifinals of the NGAC tournament.
February 1 — The Lady Trojans advanced to the semifinals of the NGAC tournament with a 38-31 win over Heritage.
January 27 — Gordon Lee defeated LaFayette 26-24 in its final game of the regular season. The Lady Trojans finished with a record of 11-3 in NGAC games.
January 24 — The Lady Trojans jumped to an early lead and held on to beat Lakeview 36-31.
January 21 — The JV team finished its season with a record of 10-3 after defeating Chattanooga Valley 24-23.
January 20 — Gordon Lee beat Rossville 42-6.
January 17 — The Lady Trojans knocked off Chattanooga Valley 39-28.
January 14 — Dade County made two free throws with 3.7 seconds remaining to slip past Gordon Lee 30-29. The JV team beat the Lady Wolverines 26-22.
January 13 — Gordon Lee beat Heritage 28-18.
January 10 — The Lady Trojans lost to Ringgold 30-15 to drop their record to 6-2 in NGAC games.
January 7 — Gordon Lee could not hold a third-quarter lead and lost to Chattanooga Christian 43-28. The JV team defeated the Lady Chargers 27-9.
January 5 — The JV team fell to GPS 35-29.
December 17 — The JV team lost to LaFayette 29-10.
December 13 — The Lady Trojans pulled ahead in the second quarter and held on to beat LaFayette 27-18.
December 10 — The JV team defeated Chattanooga Christian 29-13.
December 9 — Gordon Lee slipped by Lakeview 22-21. The JV team beat the Lady Warriors 48-6.
December 6 — The Lady Trojans beat Rossville 55-9. The JV also knocked off Rossville.
December 3 — The JV team beat Heritage 40-23.
December 2 — Gordon Lee registered two big wins over Chattanooga Valley. The varsity team defeated the Lady Eagles 45-6, and the JV won by a 37-13 score.
November 29 — The Lady Trojans defeated Heritage 29-11. The JV team defeated the Lady Generals 34-6.
November 22 — Gordon Lee lost to Ringgold 26-16. The JV team lost to the Lady Tigers 27-24.
November 19 — The JV team began its season with a 38-3 thrashing of Lakeview.
November 18 — The Lady Trojans opened their season with a 37-33 victory over Dade County.
