Lady Trojans win NGAC titles
The GLMS Lady Trojan basketball team won its third North Georgia Athletic Conference tournament championship in four years on February 18 by defeating Lakeview 31-21 in the finals. Gordon Lee never trailed in the tournament, having previously beaten Chattanooga Valley in the first round and Dade County in the semifinals.
The tournament title was the fourth for the Lady Trojans, who had previously won their fifth regular-season championship by posting a 12-4 record in NGAC league games. The team's overall record of 17-4 tied the GLMS record for most wins in a season.
Five Lady Trojans selected All-NGAC
Lady Trojan basketball players Katherine Chambers, Tiffany Holland, and Katelyn Lee were recognized as members of the girls' All-League team at the end-of-season awards ceremony February 18 at Lakeview. Abbey Bohannon, Tori McElhaney, Chambers, and Lee were selected to the All-Tournament team. Lee was chosen as the Most Valuable Player of the tournament.
2009-2010 season updates
Feb 18 The Lady Trojans won the NGAC tournament championship with a 31-21 victory over Lakeview.
Feb 17 Gordon Lee built an early lead then held on to defeat Dade County 33-26 and advance to the NGAC tournament finals for the fifth consecutive year.
Feb 10 The Lady Trojans held Chattanooga Valley to just four points through the first three quarters and cruised to a 33-11 win in the first round of the NGAC tournament.
Feb 5 Gordon Lee won a share of the NGAC regular-season championship despite falling to Dade County 23-21.
Feb 4 The Lady Trojans lost to Lakeview 42-41 in double overtime.
Feb 2 Gordon Lee defeated Rossville 36-18.
Jan 26 The Lady Trojans topped Chattanooga Valley 42-16.
Jan 22 Gordon Lee led 14-2 after one quarter and went on to blitz LaFayette 40-12. The JV team ended its season with a 38-16 loss to Dalton.
Jan 19 The Lady Trojans outscored Ringgold in all four quarters of their 32-24 win over the Lady Tigers. The JV team lost to Dalton 28-19.
Jan 16 The JV team fell to Dade County 30-22.
Jan 15 Gordon Lee gradually pulled away from Trion in a 34-23 victory.
Jan 14 The JV team lost to Heritage 34-20.
Jan 12 The Lady Trojans started the second half of their NGAC schedule by defeating Heritage 44-30. The JV team lost to Chattanooga Valley 33-27.
Jan 9 Gordon Lee got back in the win column with a 39-15 victory over Chattanooga Christian. The JV team saw the Lady Chargers score with two seconds to play and fell 28-26.
Dec 18 The Lady Trojans lost to Dade County 40-33. The JV team topped the Lady Wolverines 23-17.
Dec 15 Gordon Lee routed Rossville 43-13. The JV team also posted a convincing victory, winning 43-8 over the Lady Bulldogs.
Dec 12 The Lady Trojans overcame a sluggish start and posted a 36-14 victory over Chattanooga Christian. The JV team defeated the Lady Chargers 25-20.
Dec 11 The JV team made three free throws late in the fourth quarter to put away Lakeview 15-12.
Dec 8 Gordon Lee outscored Chattanooga Valley 21-0 in the first and third quarters of its 32-13 win over the Lady Eagles. The JV team hit a shot with two seconds remaining to defeat CVMS 25-23.
Dec 4 The Lady Trojans led by as many as 16 points in the fourth quarter then held on to defeat LaFayette 30-21. The JV team beat the Lady Ramblers 25-16.
Dec 1 Ringgold outscored Gordon Lee 8-3 in overtime to hand the Lady Trojans their first loss of the season, 32-27. The JV team beat the Lady Tigers 19-15.
Nov 24 The Lady Trojans jumped in front early on their way to a 42-23 victory over Trion. The JV team beat Ringgold 27-12.
Nov 21 The JV team rallied for a 21-17 win over Westside.
Nov 20 Gordon Lee defeated Heritage 35-18. The JV team topped the Lady Generals 30-17.
Nov 17 The Lady Trojans opened their season with a hard-fought 38-29 victory over Lakeview. The JV team fell to the Lady Warriors 22-16.
