Overview of 2009-2010 School Improvement Plan

Goal 1:
All students will meet or exceed standards in writing.
Objective 1:
The percentage of all students who meet or exceed standards in writing on the Georgia Grade 8 Writing Assessment will increase from 94% to 96% by May 2010.
Objective 2:
The percentage of all students who exceed standards in writing on the Georgia Grade 8 Writing Assessment will increase from 8% to 10% by May 2010.
Goal 2:
All students will graduate from high school.
Objective 1:
100% of middle school students will meet the standards and criteria for promotion to the next grade level.
Objective 2:
100% of eighth graders will transition to high school with a five-year career plan.
Goal 3:
All students will meet or exceed standards in math.
Objective 1:
The percentage of all sixth grade students meeting or exceeding standards in math on the CRCT will increase from 73% to 80% by May 2010.
Objective 2:
The percentage of all seventh grade students meeting or exceeding standards in math on the CRCT will increase from 95% to 97% by May 2010.
Objective 3:
The percentage of all eighth grade students meeting or exceeding standards in math on the CRCT will increase from 73% to 80% by May 2010.
Objective 4:
The percentage of all students (grades 6-8) meeting or exceeding standards in math on the CRCT will increase from 78% to 85% by May 2010.
Goal 4:
All students will meet or exceed standards in reading.
Objective 1:
The percentage of all students who meet or exceed standards in reading on the CRCT will increase from 96.4% to 98% by May 2010.
Objective 2:
The percentage of all students who exceed standards in reading on the CRCT will increase from 27% to 30% by May 2010.
Goal 5:
GLMS will increase parent perception of school climate — specifically friendliness and communication.
Objective 1:
GA PSC Needs Assessment Survey will increase from 57% to 100% on "The school is a friendly place for me (parent) to visit."
Objective 2:
GA PSC Needs Assessment Survey will increase from 31% to 100% on "The school tells me how my child is doing often and in many ways."
