Attendance is a priority at Gordon Lee Middle School. Students are encouraged to attend school every day so that they will gain the most benefit from classroom instruction time. When a student is absent from school, the parents or guardians are contacted by an administrator, and a note must be sent from the parent or guardian detailing the reason for the absence.
The average daily attendance over the past five years has been 97%. This pattern indicates that students are content in their learning environment and enjoy coming to school each day. The faculty and staff strive to create an atmosphere in which students feel safe and welcome so that the instructional time is optimized.
