2007 season updates
Oct 27 The Lady Trojans' season ended with a 25-6, 25-10, 25-15 loss to second-ranked Lovett in the opening round of the state sectional tournament.
Oct 13 Gordon Lee won one of three matches in the Area 6-AA/A tournament to finish fourth and qualify for the state sectionals for the second consecutive year. The Lady Trojans fell to LaFayette 25-11, 25-18, defeated Sonoraville 25-11, 25-13, then lost to Temple 25-11, 25-22.
Oct 11 The Lady Trojans lost a tough 23-25, 25-22, 25-16 match to Southeast Whitfield, but bounced back to defeat Murray County in their final regular-season match of the year.
Oct 9 Gordon Lee lost 25-17, 25-21 to Darlington, but bounced back with a 25-11, 25-10 win over Sonoraville and a 25-8, 25-15 defeat of Calhoun.
Oct 4 The Lady Trojans got back in the win column with a 25-16, 25-16 victory over LFO.
Sep 27 Gordon Lee suffered a tough 25-23, 25-27, 25-18 loss to Ridgeland before dropping a 25-19, 25-16 match to Dalton.
Sep 25 The Lady Trojans split two area matches, beating Temple 18-25, 25-23, 25-14, but dropping a 25-23, 25-14 match to LaFayette. Abby Holder had 10 kills, Christa Mariakis added 10 assists, while Katie Parrish had eight kills, three blocks, and two aces in the win over the Lady Tigers.
Sep 20 Gordon Lee lost to Southeast Whitfield 25-21, 25-18, 25-7. The JV team suffered its first loss of the season, falling to the Lady Raiders in two close games.
Sep 18 The Lady Trojans lost to LaFayette 25-19, 25-22 in a non-area match. The JV team beat the Lady Ramblers.
Sep 15 Gordon Lee won one of five matches in the Darlington Tournament, beating Johnson of Gainesville 2-1. The Lady Trojans also lost 2-1 to Johnson, and dropped 2-0 decisions to Southeast Whitfield, South Forsyth, and Walker.
Sep 13 The Lady Trojans split a pair of matches, losing a close 25-23, 26-24 match to LFO, but bouncing back to defeat Calhoun 25-17, 25-8. Against LFO Abby Holder led GLHS with five kills, two aces, and a pair of blocks. Jessy Pressley, Katie Parrish, and Amber Early had four kills each while Alli O'Neal had four aces. In the second match Christa Mariakis had seven aces and four assists while Early and Kaita McGregor added three kills each. The JV team knocked off LFO 34-32, 25-19 to remain unbeaten.
Sep 11 Gordon Lee won its first three area matches of the season, knocking off Rockmart 25-12, 25-13, beating Adairsville 25-9, 25-5, and defeating Calhoun 25-2, 25-11. For the day Kasha McMahan had 10 digs and 10 assists, Jill Johnson had 12 digs, Abby Holder had 5 aces and 13 kills, Alli O'Neal had 10 aces and 5 kills, and Christa Mariakis had 10 aces and 17 assists.
Sep 6 The Lady Trojans beat Murray County 25-19, 25-17. Abby Holder led GLHS with 9 kills, 7 digs, 4 blocks, and 3 aces. Christa Mariakis had 9 assists, 3 digs, and 3 kills, Kasha McMahan had 6 assists and 9 digs to go with 3 kills, and Alli O'Neal had 6 aces, 5 digs, and 3 kills. The JV team remained unbeaten, also knocking off the Lady Indians in two straight games.
Aug 30 Gordon Lee split a pair of matches, defeating Lookout Valley 2-0 before suffering its first defeat of the season, a 2-0 loss to Ridgeland. Abby Holder had 13 kills, Jessy Pressley had 11 kills, and Katie Parrish had 10 kills for GLHS. Christa Mariakis had 16 assists and Kasha McMahan added 13 assists. Amber Early led the Lady Trojans defensively with 13 digs while Alli O'Neal had 10 digs. The JV team remained unbeaten, knocking off both Ridgeland and Lookout Valley.
Aug 28 The Lady Trojans knocked off LaFayette 25-22, 22-25, 25-16. Abby Holder led GLHS with 10 kills, 26 digs, 5 aces, and 3 blocks. Katie Parrish had 11 kills and 5 aces while Kasha McMahan had 17 digs and 8 assists. Christa Mariakis had 15 assists and Amber Early had 23 digs. The JV team also beat the Lady Ramblers, winning in two straight games.
Aug 23 Gordon Lee improved its record to 4-0 on the season, defeating both Tennessee Temple and Murray County in two straight games. Abby Holder had 10 kills against the Lady Crusaders, then came back with 9 kills in the second match. Katie Parrish had 8 kills in each match and served 9 aces for the day. Jessy Pressley had 8 digs and 6 kills against the Lady Indians while Christa Mariakis totaled 23 assists in the two matches. The JV team opened its season with a 2-0 win over Tennessee Temple.
Aug 21 The Lady Trojans opened their season with a pair of 2-0 wins. Gordon Lee defeated Tennessee Temple as Kasha McMahan and Jessy Pressley recorded 13 digs each, Abby Holder had 8 kills and 4 aces, Katie Parrish had 5 kills and 4 aces, and Christa Mariakis dished out 15 assists. In the win over Berean Academy, Jill Johnson and Amber Early had 8 digs each, Holder had 12 kills, Mariakis had 13 assists, and Parrish served 4 aces.
