2006 season updates
Oct 28 Gordon Lee defeated Chattahoochee County 3-0 in the first round of the state sectionals before seeing its season end with a 3-0 loss to Savannah Christian in the round of 16. Leaders for the Lady Trojans were Katie Parrish with 15 kills and 3 blocks, Tiffany Smallwood and Christa Mariakis with 12 aces each, Smallwood and Abby Holder with 17 digs each, and Jordan Dupree with 34 assists.
Oct 19 The Lady Trojans finished second in the Area 6-AA/A tournament, falling to Darlington in the finals 3-1. Gordon Lee took the first game of the match, but the Lady Tigers came back to sweep the next three.
Oct 14 Gordon Lee defeated Temple 25-9, 25-21 in the semifinals of the Area 6-AA/A tournament. Abby Holder led the Lady Trojans will six kills. Jordan Dupree had 10 assists and Kasha McMahan had 10 digs.
Oct 12 The Lady Trojans split their final regular-season matches, falling to Southeast Whitfield 2-0 before finishing with a 2-0 win over Murray County.
Oct 5 Gordon Lee clinched the top seed in the Area 6-AA/A tournament with a pair of 2-0 wins on Senior Night. The Lady Trojans began the night with a big 26-24, 25-21 win over Darlington. Senior Tiffany Smallwood had 19 digs, two kills and an ace, while fellow senior Alli Brooks had 14 digs, five kills and three aces. Senior Jordan Dupree had 14 assists to go with five kills and four digs, and seniors Allison Crowe and Ashley Henson had six digs each. GLHS then completed a perfect 6-0 Area record with a 25-14, 25-10 win over Sonoraville.
Oct 3 The Lady Trojans dropped two non-area matches. GLHS won game one against Southeast Whitfield, but the Lady Raiders rallied for a 19-25, 25-19, 25-22 victory. Gordon Lee then lost to LFO in two close games, 26-24, 25-23. Abby Holder and Alli Brooks had 17 kills each for the night. Katie Parrish had nine aces, Jordan Dupree finished with 23 assists, and Kasha McMahan added 22 digs.
Sep 28 Gordon Lee lost to a pair of AAAA teams, falling to both Ridgeland and Dalton by 2-0 scores. The JV team won game one, but dropped a 2-1 decision to the Lady Panthers.
Sep 26 The Lady Trojans improved to 4-0 in Area 6-AA/A matches, sweeping Temple and LaFayette by 2-0 scores. Tiffany Smallwood had 18 digs 4 aces and 3 kills against the Lady Tigers, then came back with 16 digs and 7 aces in the second match. Katie Parrish had 8 kills, 3 aces, and 2 block against the Lady Ramblers while Abby Holder had 7 kills against Temple and 6 kills against LaFayette. Jordan Dupree dished out 26 assists for the two matches.
Sep 23 Gordon Lee finished second in the Raider Rally. The Lady Trojans opened pool play with a 2-1 loss to Southeast Whitfield, but bounced back to defeat Gilmer County and Houston County by 2-0 scores. GLHS then beat Adairsville and Houston County in elimination matches before falling against to Southeast in the tournament finals.
Sep 21 The Lady Trojans won two matches, beating Southeast Whitfield 2-0 and following up with a 2-0 victory over Murray County. In the first match, Tiffany Smallwood had 6 aces and 12 digs, Kasha McMahan added 12 digs, Abby Holder had 6 kills, and Jordan Dupree had 12 assists. In the nightcap, Alli Brooks and Katie Parrish each had 5 aces and 6 kills, and Holder had 10 digs.
Sep 19 Gordon Lee lost to LaFayette in three games. The Lady Trojans won the first game of the match before dropping the next two by identical 26-24 scores. The JV team also lost to the Lady Ramblers by a score of 2-1.
Sep 18 The JV team won twice, defeating Boyd Buchanan and Chattanooga Christian.
Sep 14 The Lady Trojans fell to Ridgeland in three games. Katie Parrish led GLHS with 5 kills, 3 blocks, and 4 aces. Kasha McMahan added 7 digs, and Jordan Dupree had 12 assists to go along with 2 kills and 3 aces. The JV team also lost to the Lady Panthers.
Sep 12 Gordon Lee swept a pair of area contests, knocking off both Rockmart and Adairsville by 2-0 scores. Against Rockmart, Katie Parrish had 6 kills and 5 aces, Jordan Dupree had 12 assists and 4 kills, Kasha McMahan had 8 digs, and Christa Mariakis added 4 digs and 3 aces. In the nightcap, Abby Holder led the way with 6 kills, 4 aces and 4 digs, Tiffany Smallwood had 5 aces, 5 digs, and 2 kills, and Parrish posted 7 kills and 3 aces.
Sep 7 The Lady Trojans lost a close 26-24, 26-24 match to LFO. Katie Parrish and Abby Holder had 7 kills each, Tiffany Smallwood had 3 aces, and Jordan Dupree had 17 assists to lead Gordon Lee. The JV team beat the Lady Warriors 2-0.
Sep 5 Gordon Lee dropped game one against Murray County, but came back for a 24-26, 25-18, 25-20 win over the Lady Indians. Abby Holder led the way with 7 kills and Katie Parrish added 6 kills and 2 blocks. Jordan Dupree served 5 aces and had 9 assists. The JV team also defeated Murray County 2-1.
Aug 31 In their second match of the day, the Lady Trojans defeated Lookout Valley 2-1 as Tiffany Smallwood had 6 aces, Abby Holder had 10 digs, and Jessy Pressley had 5 kills to go with 3 blocks. Earlier GLHS had lost a tough three-game match to Hixson. Leading Gordon Lee against the Lady Wildcats were Katie Parrish with 6 kills and 2 blocks, Jordan Dupree with 4 kills and 11 assists, Kasha McMahan with 14 digs, and Smallwood with 7 aces.
Aug 29 Gordon Lee rallied for a 19-25, 25-21, 25-15 win over LaFayette. Alli Brooks had 6 kills, Katie Parrish had 6 kills and 4 blocks, Allison Crowe had 10 digs, Jordan Dupree dished out 13 assists, and Abby Holder added 5 aces. The JV team won the first game of their match, but fell to the Lady Ramblers 2-1.
Aug 24 The Lady Trojans opened their season with a 3-1 loss to Tennessee Temple. Gordon Lee was led by Katie Parrish with 8 kills, Allison Crowe with 6 digs, Jordan Dupree with 12 assists, and Christa Mariakis with 6 aces.
