Softball team wins Region championship
The GLHS softball team won its fifth straight Region 6-A championship with a 5-0 triumph over Trion on October 11. The top-seeded Lady Trojans received a bye in the tournament's first round, then advanced to the finals by beating Bremen 8-5 in the second round and knocking off Trion 6-0 in the winner's bracket finals.
The Lady Trojans moved on to the North Georgia Sectionals as the #1 team from Region 6. They defeated Athens Christian in the first round and then knocked off Providence Christian and Jefferson to advance to the state's final eight for the sixth consecutive year. [Sectional bracket]

Gordon Lee beat Bryan County, Jefferson, and Eagle's Landing Christian its first three games in Columbus before dropping one-run decisions to ELCA in its final two contests to finish as state runner-up for the second consecutive year. [Finals bracket]

2007 season updates
Oct 27 The Lady Trojans' season ended one win short of a state championship for the second year in a row as they lost 3-2 and 1-0 to Eagle's Landing Christian. Gordon Lee finished with a record of 29-8.
Oct 26 Gordon Lee scored three times in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Eagle's Landing Christian 3-2 in the winner's bracket finals of the state tournament. A double by Shauna Gallahar was the Lady Trojans' only hit of the inning. GLHS took advantage of a passed ball, a walk, a hit batsman, and an error to plate the three runs.
Oct 25 The Lady Trojans got two-out RBI hits from Jonia Taylor in the sixth inning and Lacy Perry in the seventh to rally and defeat Jefferson 2-1 in the second round of the state Elite Eight tournament. GLHS earlier knocked off Bryan County 7-3 in the tournament's first round. Taylor was 2-for-3 with an RBI in each game and struck out 22 while allowing just six hits in the two games.
Oct 20 Gordon Lee advanced to the Elite Eight with a 3-2 win over Jefferson. Anna Quinn had two hits, including a double, and two RBIs. Chelsea Tarvin added two hits and an RBI to the Lady Trojans' attack. Jonia Taylor allowed just three hits and no walks while striking out 12 to get the win.
Oct 19 The Lady Trojans won a pair of games in the North Sectional tournament, pounding Athens Christian 14-1 before shutting out Providence Christian 3-0. Callie Gee pitched a two-hitter in game one, and Jonia Taylor duplicated the feat in the second game.
Oct 11 Gordon Lee won its fifth straight Region 6-A championship with a 5-0 blanking of Trion. Chelsea Tarvin was 4-for-4 with two doubles, while Jonia Taylor and Jordan Bohannon had two RBIs each. Taylor got the win, allowing just three hits and striking out 13.
Oct 9 The Lady Trojans beat Trion 6-0 in the winner's bracket finals of the Region 6-A tournament. Jonia Taylor was 3-for-4 with a home run and two RBIs, and Shauna Gallahar also had a two-run homer. Jordan Bohannon added an RBI double for GLHS. Taylor got the win, striking out 12.
Oct 8 Gordon Lee clinched a berth in the state sectionals with an 8-5 win over Bremen in the Region 6-A tournament. Jonia Taylor was 2-for-4 with a triple and three RBIs to lead the GLHS attack. Chelsea Tarvin, Molly Rodgers, and Shauna Gallahar also had two hits.
Oct 4 The Lady Trojans finished off an undefeated season in Region 6-A win a 4-1 defeat of Bremen. Callie Gee celebrated Senior Night by pitching a four-hitter and driving in Gordon Lee's first run in four-run second inning. Anna Quinn got the other three RBIs with a bases-loaded double. Lesslie Bohannon was 2-for-3 for GLHS.
Oct 2 Gordon Lee knocked off Mt. Zion 13-0. Lesslie Bohannon had three hits and four RBIs while Jensen O'Neal had three hits and scored two runs. Jonia Taylor picked up the win, allowing just two hits and striking out six.
Sep 29 The Lady Trojans completed a weekend of play at Warner Park by defeating Northwest Whitfield 2-1 and shutting out Adairsville 11-0, before falling to Union Grove 5-0. Anna Quinn had her first career home run against the Lady Bruins, and was 2-for-4 with a double and two RBIs against the Lady Tigers.
Sep 28 Gordon Lee beat Ridgeland 3-0, then knocked off Southeast Whitfield 5-2. Jonia Taylor pitched a two-hitter in the first game and Callie Gee was the winning pitcher in game two. Jensen O'Neal had two hits in each game for GLHS.
Sep 27 The Lady Trojans defeated Excel Christian 5-0 to clinch the top seed in the upcoming region tournament. Callie Gee threw a three-hitter to get the win. Chelsea Tarvin was the only player with two hits for GLHS.
Sep 22 Gordon Lee improved to 7-0 in region play with a 8-0 win over Bowdon. Chelsea Tarvin, Lesslie Bohannon, and Shauna Gallahar had two hits each, while Jensen O'Neal and Jonia Taylor both drove in two runs. Taylor pitched a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts.
Sep 20 The Lady Trojans beat Trion 5-0. Jordan Bohannon, Shauna Gallahar, and Chelsea Tarvin each had two hits. Jonia Taylor was the winning pitcher, allowing only three hits while striking out eight.
Sep 18 Callie Gee allowed only one hit in five innings and Jonia Taylor tossed two hitless innings of relief as Gordon Lee shut out Bremen 1-0. Taylor was 2-for-2 at the plate and drove in the Lady Trojans' run with a third-inning single.
Sep 15 The Lady Trojans tallied single runs in each of the first six innings in their 6-2 defeat of Bowdon. Holli Brooks was 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Anna Quinn was 2-for-3 with an RBI. Jordan Bohannon homered for GLHS. Jonia Taylor pitched a two-hitter with 14 strikeouts and no walks to get the win.
Sep 13 Gordon Lee scored 11 times in the second inning and cruised to a 13-2 win over Mt. Zion. Molly Rodgers and Lesslie Bohannon were each 2-for-2 with two RBIs and Jonia Taylor picked up three RBIs. Callie Gee got the win, allowing only one earned run and striking out seven in five innings.
Sep 11 The Lady Trojans defeated Excel Christian 12-0. Molly Rodgers had three hits with a home run and four RBIs and Lesslie Bohannon had two hits, a home run, and three RBIs. Jonia Taylor picked up the win, allowing no hits and striking out seven.
Sep 8 GLHS went 2-2 in the Cherokee Invitational, beating Ringgold and Starr's Mill but losing to Ridgeland and Blessed Trinity.
Sep 7 Gordon Lee split a pair of games in the Cherokee Invitational. The Lady Trojans lost to Etowah 2-0 but bounced back to defeat South Forsyth 5-1.
Sep 4 Jonia Taylor pitched a no-hitter with 10 strikeouts as the Lady Trojans opened their region schedule with a 6-0 win over Trion. Lesslie Bohannon was 2-for-2 with 2 RBIs for GLHS.
Sep 1 Gordon Lee fell to Luella, the state's seventh-ranked AAAAA team, by a score of 6-0.
Aug 25 The Lady Trojans won three games in the LFO tournament, defeating Calhoun 4-3, Ringgold 2-0, and Dalton 1-0. Jonia Taylor picked up two wins while Callie Gee had one.
Aug 24 Gordon Lee opened its season with a 6-0 loss to LFO in the LFO Invitational.
