2008-2009 season updates
Feb 28 Gordon Lee's season ended with a 62-58 loss to North Cobb Christian in the first round of the state tournament. Grayson Chambers led GLHS with 16 points. Ryan Culbreth added 11 and Jordan Afman scored 10. The Trojans finished with a record of 21-8.
Feb 21 The Trojans lost to Darlington 49-45 in the championship game of the Region 6-A tournament. Ryan Culbreth led GLHS with 19 points. Grayson Chambers added 12.
Feb 20 Gordon Lee beat Bowdon 63-53 in the semifinals of the Region 6-A tournament. Grayson Chambers led the Trojans with 15 points. Brad Culbreth had 11 while Ryan Culbreth and Josh Guthrie had 10 each.
Feb 17 The Trojans advanced to the Region 6-A tournament semifinals with a 63-50 win over Excel Christian. Grayson Chambers finished with 23 points while Ryan Culbreth scored 12 and Trey Clendenen added nine for GLHS.
Feb 13 Gordon Lee dropped its regular-season finale to Darlington 66-40. Grayson Chambers led the Trojans with 13 points.
Feb 10 The Trojans clinched the #2 spot in the upcoming region tournament by beating Trion 74-65. Brad Culbreth led GLHS with 20 points, including 11-for-13 from the free throw line in the fourth quarter. Grayson Chambers added 14 points while Derek Roberts had 11 and Ryan Culbreth added 10.
Feb 6 Gordon Lee defeated Bowdon 59-50. Grayson Chambers led GLHS with 16 points while Derek Roberts had 13 points and 12 rebounds. Josh Guthrie and Ryan Culbreth scored nine points each. Brad Culbreth grabbed four rebounds and was 6-for-8 from the free throw line in the final two minutes to help the Trojans put the game away.
Jan 31 The Trojans beat LFO 72-38. Josh Guthrie led GLHS with 17 points. Derek Roberts added 13, Jordan Afman had 11, and Ryan Culbreth scored 10 in the balanced attack.
Jan 30 Gordon Lee used a 13-0 run at the start of the fourth quarter to put away Mt. Zion 58-42. Grayson Chambers had 19 points to lead Gordon Lee. Derek Roberts pitched in with 11 points and 10 rebounds.
Jan 27 The Trojans used a 31-6 third quarter to help put away Excel Christian 81-39. Ryan Culbreth led Gordon Lee with 15 points. Brad Culbreth had 13 and Grayson Chambers added 11.
Jan 24 Gordon Lee outscored Bowdon 25-10 in the fourth quarter to take a 66-46 win over the Red Devils. Grayson Chambers led the Trojans with 20 points. Derek Roberts added 15. Ryan Culbreth had 14 while Josh Guthrie finished with 12.
Jan 23 The Trojans fell to Bremen 62-50. Grayson Chambers scored 25 points for GLHS.
Jan 20 Gordon Lee lost to Darlington 72-62. Grayson Chambers and Josh Guthrie each scored 17 points for the Trojans. Derek Roberts added 12 points while Ryan Culbreth had 10.
Jan 16 The Trojans dropped a 51-43 decision to Trion. Ryan Culbreth had 20 points for GLHS.
Jan 13 Gordon Lee improved its record to 13-2 with an 81-61 win over Boyd-Buchanan. Grayson Chambers led the scoring with 20 points. Ryan Culbreth added 17. Derek Roberts contributed 15 points and 12 rebounds while Jordan Afman chipped in with 11 points. Casey Mount had nine assists.
Jan 10 The Trojans defeated Ringgold 74-58. Grayson Chambers had 25 points for GLHS. Josh Guthrie scored 13 and Ryan Culbreth added 12.
Jan 9 Gordon Lee picked up another region win with a 76-35 victory over Mt. Zion. Josh Guthrie led a balanced attack with 16 points. Ryan Culbreth had 14 points while Grayson Chambers had 13. Brad Culbreth added 11 points and five steals. Derek Roberts scored eight points and grabbed 13 rebounds.
Jan 6 The Trojans outscored Excel Christian 60-37 in the second half to take a 91-57 win over the Eagles. Ryan Culbreth scored 20 of his game-high 28 points in the second half. Derek Roberts had 14 while Grayson Chambers added 13 to the GLHS attack.
Dec 30 Gordon Lee fell to Alexandria 79-65 in the finals of the 16-team Oneonta Holiday Tournament. Grayson Chambers scored 17 points to lead the Trojans. Derek Roberts added 13 and Josh Guthrie had 12. Chambers and Roberts were selected to the All-Tournament Team.
Dec 29 The Trojans advanced to the finals of the Oneonta Holiday Tournament with a 58-50 win over Mars Hill Bible. Derek Roberts led a balanced attack with 11 points while Grayson Chambers, Ryan Culbreth, and Josh Guthrie each scored 10.
Dec 27 Gordon Lee beat Cleveland 68-61 in the quarterfinals of the Oneonta Holiday Tournament. Grayson Chambers led GLHS with 26 points. Jordan Afman scored 13 points, Casey Mount had 11 assists, and Trey Clendenen pulled down eight rebounds in the win.
Dec 26 The Trojans defeated Douglas 69-59 in the first round of the Oneonta Holiday Tournament. Grayson Chambers scored 19 points and Ryan Culbreth added 18. Casey Mount collected eight assists while Trey Clendenen grabbed seven rebounds.
Dec 19 Gordon Lee knocked off Ringgold 61-38. Grayson Chambers scored 16 points to lead the Trojans. Derek Roberts had a double-double with 12 points and 10 rebounds while Ryan Culbreth added 11 points to the attack.
Dec 16 The Trojans opened their region schedule with a 74-51 win over Bremen. Grayson Chambers led GLHS with 19 points. Ryan Culbreth scored 14 and Josh Guthrie added 13.
Dec 9 Gordon Lee blasted LFO 100-33. Grayson Chambers led the Trojans with 38 points. Jordan Afman scored 16, Ryan Culbreth had 15, and Josh Guthrie added 12 for GLHS. Casey Mount had 14 assists.
Dec 2 The Trojans suffered their first loss of the season, falling to Ridgeland 56-49. Grayson Chambers scored 14 points, Derek Roberts had 12 points, and Ryan Culbreth added 10 points for GLHS.
Nov 29 Gordon Lee defeated Hixson 73-63. Grayson Chambers was the game's high scorer with 29 points. Ryan Culbreth and Derek Roberts added 10 points each to the Trojans' attack. Chambers finished 17-for-18 from the free throw line.
Nov 28 The Trojans beat LFO 69-54. Jordan Afman and Derek Roberts scored 12 points each to lead Gordon Lee.
Nov 26 Gordon Lee opened its season with a 100-79 win over Ider. Grayson Chambers led all scorers with 29 points. Josh Guthrie scored 18 and Derek Roberts added 12 for GLHS. Roberts and Trey Clendenen grabbed 10 rebounds each while Casey Mount dished out seven assists.
