2009-2010 season updates
Feb 26 The Trojans' season came to a close in the first round of the state tournament as they fell to Wesleyan 67-58. Derek Roberts scored 25 points and grabbed 11 rebounds for GLHS. Ryan Culbreth added 14 points, including the 1,000th point of his career. Daniel Brooks chipped in 12 points. Gordon Lee finished the year with a record of 21-6.
Feb 20 Gordon Lee won its second region title in three years by beating Bowdon 55-48 in the Region 6-A championship game. Grayson Chambers led the Trojans with 16 points. Daniel Brooks and Ryan Culbreth added 13 points each while Derek Roberts scored 11.
Feb 19 The Trojans beat Mt. Zion 68-39 in the semifinals of the Region 6-A tournament to advance to the championship game for the third straight year. Ryan Culbreth paced GLHS with 24 points. Derek Roberts added 19 points and Daniel Brooks scored 11.
Feb 15 Gordon Lee wrapped up a perfect 12-0 regular season in region play with a 72-50 defeat of Darlington. Ryan Culbreth led the Trojans with 27 points. Derek Roberts added 24 points and 15 rebounds.
Feb 9 The Trojans used a big third quarter to come back and defeat Trion 62-53. Daniel Brooks led GLHS with 20 points. Grayson Chambers added 16 points and Ryan Culbreth scored 12.
Feb 6 Gordon Lee wrapped up the top seed in the Region 6-A tournament with a 59-43 win over Mt. Zion. Ryan Culbreth had 22 points and Derek Roberts scored 18 for Gordon Lee.
Feb 5 The Trojans defeated Bowdon 62-51. Daniel Brooks led GLHS with 16 points. Derek Roberts had 14 points and 10 rebounds. Grayson Chambers added 14 points and eight assists while Ryan Culbreth also scored 14 points.
Feb 2 Gordon Lee knocked off Chattanooga Christian 64-46. Leading scorers for the Trojans were Derek Roberts with 17 points, Ryan Culbreth with 16, Grayson Chambers with 13, and Daniel Brooks with 11.
Jan 26 The Trojans defeated Excel Christian 75-48 to improve their record in region play to 8-0. Ryan Culbreth led GLHS with 25 points. Daniel Brooks had 16 points while Derek Roberts scored 14 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Grayson Chambers dished out nine assists for Gordon Lee.
Jan 23 Gordon Lee took over sole possession of first place in Region 6-A with a come-from-behind 64-60 win over Bowdon. The Trojans were led by Derek Roberts, who had 18 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Culbreth added 14 points. Grayson Chambers scored 11 points, including a three-pointer with 20 seconds to play to give GLHS the lead. Daniel Brooks made two free throws with five seconds left to seal the victory.
Jan 22 The Trojans blasted Bremen 72-40. Derek Roberts led GLHS with 22 points and 12 rebounds. Daniel Brooks added 14 points while Grayson Chambers and Ryan Culbreth scored 11 points each.
Jan 19 Gordon Lee opened a 16-point first-quarter lead and held on to outlast Darlington 59-51. Daniel Brooks led the Trojans in scoring with 16 points. Ryan Culbreth had 15 points and Derek Roberts added 14 points.
Jan 16 The Trojans defeated Mt. Zion 56-45. Grayson Chambers paced GLHS with 16 points while Derek Roberts had another double-double with 15 points and 14 rebounds.
Jan 15 Gordon Lee beat Trion 61-36. The Trojans were led by Derek Roberts who had a game-high 26 points and 16 rebounds. Ryan Culbreth scored nine points while Daniel Brooks and Cody Wilson added eight points each.
Jan 5 The Trojans improved their record to 2-0 in Region 6-A games by defeating Excel Christian 52-31. Derek Roberts led GLHS with 21 points. Brennan Boyd added 10.
Dec 30 Gordon Lee captured fifth place in the Comcast Christmas Classic with a 58-46 win over LFO. Derek Roberts had 19 points for the Trojans. Ryan Culbreth added 14 while Daniel Brooks finished with 13.
Dec 29 The Trojans topped Coosa 60-53 on the second day of the Comcast Christmas Classic. GLHS got a game-high 23 points from Ryan Culbreth. Derek Roberts added 13 points in the win while Daniel Brooks finished with 11.
Dec 28 Gordon Lee lost to Chattooga 63-58 in the first round of the Comcast Christmas Classic. Derek Roberts scored 24 points to lead the Trojans. Ryan Culbreth and Brennan Boyd each scored 11.
Dec 18 The Trojans fell to Ringgold 55-45. Derek Roberts led GLHS with 20 points. Brennan Boyd added 10.
Dec 15 Gordon Lee rallied from a 17-point deficit to force overtime, then outscored Bremen 11-4 in the extra period to defeat the Blue Devils 80-73. Ryan Culbreth had a game-high 26 points and Daniel Brooks scored 25 for the Trojans.
Dec 11 The Trojans knocked off Ringgold 79-70. Ryan Culbreth led GLHS with 35 points. Grayson Chambers had 20 points and six assists while Derek Roberts added 19 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
Dec 8 Gordon Lee got back in the win column with a 73-59 victory over LFO. The Trojans were led by Derek Roberts with 25 points and 11 rebounds. Ryan Culbreth had 20 points and seven steals, and Grayson Chambers had 17 points and five assists.
Dec 4 The Trojans lost to Heritage 77-71. Ryan Culbreth scored 33 points and Derek Roberts added 20 for GLHS.
Dec 1 Chattanooga Christian hit a shot at the buzzer in overtime to defeat Gordon Lee 54-52. Ryan Culbreth led the Trojans with 22 points, 16 in the fourth quarter. Derek Roberts and Brennan Boyd scored nine points each.
Nov 28 The Trojans defeated Ider 83-57. Ryan Culbreth led all scorers with 26 points. Derek Roberts added 20 points and grabbed 17 rebounds. Brennan Boyd scored 14 points and had 12 rebounds. Daniel Brooks also scored 14.
Nov 27 Gordon Lee picked up its first win of the season, knocking of North Murray 64-58. Derek Roberts led the Trojans with 23 points and 20 rebounds. Ryan Culbreth added 22 points.
Nov 25 The Trojans fell to Hixson 64-59 in their season opener. Derek Roberts scored 21 points and Ryan Culbreth had 20 for GLHS.
