2009 season updates
Apr 28 The Trojans lost a slugfest to Excel Christian, falling 14-11.
Apr 24 Gordon Lee swept a doubleheader from Mt. Zion, winning 12-2 and 14-4.
Apr 21 The Trojans could not hold a three-run lead and dropped a 5-3 decision to first-place Darlington. Tres Scoggins and Hunter Caldwell had two hits each for Gordon Lee. Alan Tahler added a home run.
Apr 20 Gordon Lee got back in the win column with an 11-1 victory over Arts & Sciences. Blaine Bussey threw a five-inning no-hitter to get the win.
Apr 18 The Trojans were blanked by Bowdon 14-0.
Apr 17 Gordon Lee lost to Trion 6-4.
Apr 15 The Trojans fell to Darlington 8-2.
Apr 11 Gordon Lee lost to Cascade 13-4 in the championship game of the Yellow Jacket Classic. Alan Tahler and Dalton Ruby had home runs for GLHS.
Apr 10 The Trojans won their final pool-play game in the Yellow Jacket Classic, defeating Franklin Road Academy 7-6. Tres Scoggins threw a complete game four-hitter, allowing just one earned run, homered, and drove in two runs.
Apr 9 Gordon Lee split a pair of games in pool play in the Yellow Jacket Classic. GLHS opened with a 5-3 win over Forrest before dropping a 6-5 decision to Friendship Christian.
Apr 4 The Trojans lost to Excel Christian 10-4.
Mar 24 Mitch Jacks hit a two-run walk-off home run in the bottom of the seventh inning to give Gordon Lee a 10-9 victory over Trion. Tres Scoggins pitched the first six innings for the Trojans, allowing just one run on three hits. Alan Tahler had two hits at the plate and got the final two outs in the top of the seventh to pick up the pitching win.
Mar 23 The Trojans used a seven-run second inning to fuel a 13-7 win over Central. Josh Weller was 2-for-3 with three RBIs and two runs scored. Hunter Caldwell also had two hits for the Trojans. Weller, Tres Scoggins, and Dalton Ruby all homered in the win. The JV team beat the Purple Pounders 4-3.
Mar 20 Gordon Lee scored twice in the top of the first inning but Bowdon came back with nine runs in the bottom of the third to take a 9-3 win over the Trojans. Josh Weller and Taylor Cochrane had two hits each for GLHS.
Mar 18 The Trojans fell to Ridgeland 10-4. Tres Scoggins had a double and an RBI for GLHS.
Mar 13 Gordon Lee beat Heritage 6-2. Klay Durham led the GLHS attack with two hits and three RBIs. Blaine Bussey was the winning pitcher.
Mar 10 The Trojans knocked off Chattanooga Christian 5-4. Tyler Forrest allowed only two earned runs in five innings to pick up the win. Dalton Ruby had two RBIs for GLHS.
Mar 7 Gordon Lee could not hold a four-run lead and fell to Ridgeland 6-4.
Mar 6 The Trojans lost to Murray County 6-3.
Mar 2 Gordon Lee scored five times in the top of the seventh to pull out an 14-11 win over Heritage in its season opener. Tres Scoggins was 4-for-4 with five RBIs while Alan Tahler and Hunter Caldwell each had two hits.
