Overview of 2009-2010 School Improvement Plan

Goal 1:
Increase the percentage of all 11th grade first-time test takers meeting or exceeding the state standards on the GHSGT.
Objective 1:
Increase the percentage of all students meeting/exceeding standards in ELA to 97%.
Objective 2:
Increase the percentage of all students meeting/exceeding standards in science to 90%.
Objective 3:
Increase the percentage of all students meeting/exceeding standards in social studies to 97%.
Objective 4:
Increase the percentage of all students meeting the enhanced mathematics standard of a score of 516 or higher to 90%.
Objective 5:
Increase the percentage of 11th grade students with disabilities first-time test takers meeting standards in math to 75%.
Objective 6:
The percentage of 11th grade career/tech prep first-time test takers who score 516 or higher on the math portion of the GHSGT will be at least 90%.
Goal 2:
School-wide 60% of the students will read 26 or more books per year.
Objective 1:
Increase the number of students who read 13 or more books first term from 55% to 60%.
Objective 2:
Increase the number of students who read 13 or more books second term from 42% to 60%.
Goal 3:
All students will graduate from high school.
Objective 1:
100% of freshmen will have a five-year career plan by the end of their freshman year.
Objective 2:
The graduation rate for students with disabilities will increase from 80% to 85%.
Objective 3:
The graduation rate for economically disadvantaged students will increase from 85.7% to 90%.
Objective 4:
The graduation rate for all students will increase from 97% to 100%.
Goal 4:
Increase the parental awareness of the methods of communication.
Objective:
Increase the positive comments on the end-of-year parent surveys in the areas of communication to a minimum of 70%.
